January 2017 Supporters Club News


The Broch slipped to a dramatic 4-3 home defeat to Forres Mechanics in Highland League duty. The Broch lost Bryan Hay to a red card after 11 minutes for denying a goal scoring opportunity. Paul Campbell equalised from the spot before making it 2-1 with 25 yard drive that squirmed through the keepers legs. Scott Barbour made it 3-1 just after the break before Forres roared back with a 3 goal salvo of their own to take the 3 points back to Forres.


The Broch suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Wick Academy in the Highland League. The Broch trailed 1-0 at the interval before Scott Barbour equalised after 59 minutes but that was to no avail as Wick scored a winner in the last 15 minutes to take the spoils.


The Broch recorded an emphatic 4-1 win at home to Deveronvale which made up for the Broch's 2-1 defeat at home to the same opponents in the Highland League Cup earlier in the season. The Broch raced into a 3-0 lead within the first 24 minutes of the game with 2 goals from Scott Barbour and Ryan Sargent. Bryan Hay rounded off the scoring afrer Deveronvale had pulled a goal back.


The Broch came from a goal down to beat Nairn County away from home in the first league game of 2019. After a goalless first half Nairn County opened the scoring from the penalty spot after 51 minutes before 2 quickfire goals from super subs Greg Buchan and Paul Campbell after 53 and 55 minutes respectively sealed the 3 points for the Broch and made it a great start to 2019.
